the desktop was infected while i was away for college. recently, the problem only got worse(BSOD, random stuff not working etc) I know that mcafee is shitty, so scans never worked. a few hours ago, i decided to delete mcafee and install kaspersky. as soon as mcafee is gone, all of hell breaks loose. BSOD's damn near every 5 mins. so i FINALLY install kaspersky and try to do a scan(btw i got BSOD's in safe mode too). the scan was stopped by a BSOD. so i decide to install a custom version of windows 7. i formatted the c and d drive, but i left the OEM alone. while windows installing, BSOD! i was pissed! so i try it again. it seems that it was only partially installed, so its missing some files. so the fucking stupid machine tells me to restart the installation. only problem? I CANT. the goddamn BSOD keeps popping up! Help is NEEDED.

damn, bro - that sounds like a nightmare! i guess you know now you shouldn't have uninstalled mcafee. next time, just load kapersky to another drive; preferably an external. you CAN have two antivirus apps on the same pc. if your machine is working now, go here & d/l these:

d/l ALL of them & use them before you do anything. hope this helps...

I was reading this and was like wtf???? Like how the hell you get the BSOD before the windows cd boots?????
Basically reading what you said requires a clean install... clearly installing a new antivirus or scanning won't help. You know shit's serious when it affects you while in safe mode.

You dont want that, it sucks anyway, go to thepiratebay and search virus removal youll find mad shit. I recommend the Trojan remover, its the shit. Also try hooking your hard drive to another mother board and scanning. Get at me if you need more help, I make money on the side from type of shit. I charge 100.00 flat, Im not trying to charge you, Im just saying people pay me to get that shit off.:19:

My administrator from my j.o.b. was sayin' how McAfee has the best Anti-Virus software. Sooo ... That's why I have a ASR crack'd version of it. My HP tells me I do not have anti-virus software installed ...

McAfee has to be the W.O.R.S.T. piece of shyt i have ever seen in my life. I've heard nothing but HORROR STORIES from people that use it
Kaspersky is the best hands down, followed by Avira (which is FREE)
I use Avast tho, its free and veeeery friendly (Avira is great but has a daily nagscreen)
Also Malwarebytes Antimalware is a must as side protection
