I'm in the market for an external hard drive for my laptop, as well as an external dvd burner. Does anybody have a recommendation for good brands and models that i can get for a fairly inexpensive price?

for the external harddrive, i was look at a maxtor drive 80gig product, but i'm open to suggestions, let me know something.....

YEA MAXTOR's external hard drives are pretty reliable, i own a couple of them myself....here is a link for a maxtor 250GB External Hard Drive. Its a one touch drive, and has a durable aluminum casing...its pretty durable....i got it and it works wonders for me.if ur not to sure of how legitimate the website it........THEY ARE VERY LEGITIMATE... i purchase parts from them all the time when im building computer for clients... (im a computer technician on the side)

this one is the IEEE1394 edition, commonly known as firewire....they have a USB one available as well...but i got the firewire edition....its faster

now as far as DVD burner. i would have to do a lil research, because im not too familiar which would be a good buy as far as EXT. DVD burners.

also here is a 100GB maxtor ext. hard drive. its a USB 2.0 interface

For HD's I like Maxtor or WD, but Seagate is best internally if you want one of the larger drives (250+ G). For the dvd burner, I'm Sony fan, exp if its external. Most of the newer Sony drives handle all CD/DVD media, including dual layer

maxtor and seagate are the two best brands on the market...........WD has really fallen off in the last several years.......ive had to go through two of their drives this year alone.....
